Minister for Climate Change and Water, Senator Penny Wong recently launched a collection of writing and art by children from across the Murray-Darling Basin.
Liquid Gold is an anthology of children's stories, poetry and artwork about water and environmental issues affecting the Basin. Launched at Ainslie Primary School, the book is the culmination of a year's work at schools across the Basin through the Murray-Darling Basin Commission's (MDBC) Special Forever program.
"The poetry, prose and paintings in this book tell the story of the impact that water shortages are having on the environment and the families of these children. Their work reminds us that climate change and water shortages are intergenerational challenges and we must take action to prepare Australia for the future." Senator Wong said.

Riddle of the Week
An old farmer died and left 17 cows to his three sons. In his will, the farmer stated that his oldest son should get 1/2, his middle son should get 1/3, and his youngest son should get 1/9 of all the cows. The sons, who did not want to end up with half cows, sat for days trying to figure out how many cows each of them should get.
One day, their neighbour came by to see how they were doing after their father's death. The three sons told him their problem. After thinking for a while, the neighbour said: "I'll be right back!" He went away, and when he came back, the three sons could divide the cows according to their father's will, and in such a way that each of them got a whole number of cows.
Last week's riddle:
It's always 1 to 6, it's always 15 to 20, it's always 5, but it's never 21, unless it's flying.
Question: What is this?
The answer is: a dice.
"It's always 1 to 6": the numbers on the faces of the dice,
"it's always 15 to 20": the sum of the exposed faces when the dice comes to rest after being thrown,
"it's always 5": the number of exposed faces when the dice is at rest,
"but it's never 21": the sum of the exposed faces is never 21 when the dice is at rest,
"unless it's flying": the sum of all exposed faces when the dice is flying is 21 (1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6).

Riddle of the Week
Always & Never
It's always 1 to 6, it's always 15 to 20, it's always 5, but it's never 21, unless it's flying.
The Question: What is this?
Last week's riddle:
Question: You walk up to a mountain that has two paths. One leads to the other side of the mountain, and the other will get you lost forever. Two twins know the path that leads to the other side. You can ask them only one question. Except! One lies and one tells the truth, and you don't know which is which. So, what do you ask?
Answer:
You ask each twin "What would your brother say?" This works because.... Well let's say the correct path is on the left side. So say you asked the liar "What would your brother say?" Well, the liar would know his brother was honest and he would say the left side, but since the liar lies, he would say right. If you asked the honest twin the same question, he would say right, because he knows his brother will lie. Therefore, you would know that the correct path was the left!
